Cooler temps, cooler skin.

It’s August and call us crazy if you want, but the air feels slightly cooler when you step outside first thing in the morning or later in the evening. By no means is summer over, but this is Calgary after all and summer is so short here. In a few weeks kids will be going to school, and temperatures will change.

Should you do anything for your skin, as in, change your beauty routine?

Yes.

(On a side note, should you buy a bottle of wine to celebrate the kids’ imminent return to school? Also Yes!)

As temperatures start to drop, if you use lotion on your skin, switch to cream. Creams are more moisturizing so they will offer more protection and relief from dry weather that seeps in, especially in Calgary.

Take faster showers. Not only will you save on your water bill, your skin will be singing Hallelujah, too! Spending too much time in the shower can leave you deprived for moisture, so take faster showers and apply a moisturizer right away when you’re done.

The sun is still out in the fall and winter and especially in Calgary, it’s out quite a few days of the year. Don’t forget your sunscreen, even on the coldest of days because the sun is still powerful. Whether you're going for a fall hike, or just zipping around town, sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen!

Protect your lips and your hands-use lip chap on your lips and wear gloves on your hands. Cracks in your skin can cause problems such as fissures, cuts, and in the case of your lips, cold sores can form. As the elements change, and your skin will thank you!

Why?

Because Your Confidence is my Business,
